Kate Ragatz

Undergraduate student leader for WAPUSH & Op-Ed writing

Kate Ragatz is a freshman at Stanford University planning to study Data Science & Social Systems. Passionate about empowering women through historical narratives, Kate served as the national high school lead—managing the national student leadership team—and will be continuing with WAPUSH as the collegiate student lead. Kate previously ran the WAPUSH social media accounts, managed the WAPUSH Wednesday series, wrote the monthly newsletter to patrons of WAPUSH, managed and authored the student-facing WAPUSH website, contributed to the Course & Exam Description, presented at national historical conferences on behalf of WAPUSH, and wrote testimonials and Op-Eds for publication. 

Inaya Khan

High School Outreach & Tik Tok Account

Inaya Khan is currently a sophomore at Langley High School in Virginia, and plans to pursue International Relations in college. She is passionate about social justice and women’s history, especially the suffrage movement. Inaya works on high school outreach for WAPUSH, as well as running the TikTok account. Shannon Bennitt

WAPUSH Substack & oral interview project

Shannon Bennitt is Sa freshman at Claremont McKenna College planning to study Government and Data Science. She is passionate about women’s history, particularly the suffrage movement. She has published biographies of suffragists, conducted interviews with activists and experts, and presented at national historical conferences.

Allison Tyra

University Outreach

Allison Tyra is the founder and manager of Infinite Women, and host of the weekly podcast. Any biographies on the site not attributed to other sources were written by Allison. Infinite Women is a reflection of both her background in journalism and her career in non-profit marketing. Allison is also the author of Uncredited (Rising Action, 2025), which explores the ways women go unacknowledged for their work and achievements, both historically and today.

Hannah Cevasco

University Outreach

Hannah Cevasco studied Computational Biology and Global Health at Yale and is now a PhD student at MIT. She loves women’s history and reading historical fiction books. Hannah’s work for the WAPUSH campaign was recently filmed for an upcoming documentary by the Ratcliffe Institute at Harvard.

Geneva Williams

Co-Director of Oral History Projects

Geneva Williams is an undergraduate studying Political Science and Women’s & Gender Studies at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She is passionate about social justice advocacy, civic action, and K-16 education, and is interested in pursuing fields of higher education and public service.

Girl Scout Troop 61981

Cadette Girl Scout Troop 61981 is earning their Silver Award by doing education advocacy and outreach through emailing high schools for letters of support. They have also presented their work and promoted the WAPUSH campaign at the 2025 California Council of Social Studies Conference.

Annabelle Williams

Digital Curriculum Design & Website Development

Annabelle Williams is an undergraduate student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. For the past three years, she has been working on the WAPUSH campaign. Annabelle frequently works on website development as a student advisor and creates visuals for the WAPUSH curriculum. Annabelle has been involved in the campaign for an AP U.S. Women’s History course from its conception and coined the term “WAPUSH”

Gabriella Perez

Curriculum Development & Graphic Design

Gabriella Perez, an undergraduate student, designed numerous slide shows for the WAPUSH curriculum and co-authored an article about the campaign in Ms. Magazine.

Samantha Pyle

Graphic Design, Academic Presentations & Writing Projects

Samantha Pyle is a freshman at Stanford University, planning to study Chemistry on the pre-med track. She conducted an independent research project focused on integrating women’s perspectives and contributions into supplemental AP U.S. History materials. With the WAPUSH team, she has helped with outreach efforts, contributed to the Course & Exam Description, presented at national historical conferences, and designed presentation graphics and materials. In her career, Samantha hopes to find ways to combine knowledge of women’s history with medical research to promote equity in healthcare.

Madison Verner

Co-Director of Oral History Projects

Madison Verner is majoring in Political Science, Mathematics, and Psychology with a minor in Child Studies and Human Development at Tufts University. She loves theater, women’s political history, Chinese foreign policy, and tutoring women and people of color in mathematics to increase diversity in STEM fields.
